Introduction....
The Nothing phone has been rumored for months, but the wait is over. Carl Pei, the company's CEO, introduced the Nothing Phone (1) to the world in a simple, straightforward presentation, which was unexpected for such a hyped product, but it was nice. So here it is, a meeting without a phone (1).
The company's first smartphone seems to be built on a simple rule - everything you need, nothing you don't. And a bit of innovation, of course. And if we look at the specifications of the Nothing Phone (1), we can clearly see that it has been used a lot.
The No Phone (1) uses a 6.55-inch OLED with 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. And because of this relatively mainstream display, the phone doesn't really need the latest Snapdragon chipset. Therefore, no one will choose well, even if it is not the flagship Snapdragon 778G + 5G chipset, which has already proven itself. There is also a camera department on site, but that's enough. On the back is a dual 50MP camera – a primary with a wide-angle OIS lens and a second ultra-wide with AF. The 16MP selfie camera is on the other side and is housed in a small screen punch hole.
Then you will also find a 4,500mAh battery with support for 33W wired and 15W wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging is also available. However, the power of No Phone (1) lies elsewhere. First, it's a unique splash-proof transparent design, second - an incredibly easy Android 12 interface, and finally, a unique Glyph lighting interface on the back. This sets the left (1) phone apart from all the others. We are very interested in colors!
Not offering the latest technology is certainly a risky move, but you won't be making a €450 flagship in 2022. Unlike the first OnePlus phones eight years ago. And that's why we think it's a smart move to get the phone with the most useful features and not pay too much for extras you rarely (if ever) use, like LiDAR, a 4K screen, a winning chip that destroys battery life.
Look, we've managed to avoid any ridicule so far and we're proud of ourselves. So before we succumb to temptation, let's look at the nitty-gritty details.
No phone data (1) at a glance: ......

The only major drawback that we can see right away is the absence of full intrusion protection. Sure, splash resistance is another matter, but we'd expect at least IP67 for a phone with this level of hype.
No phone (1) is available in two color variants – black and white – and three memory variants – 8/128, 8/256 and 12/256. The base model starts at €469, which is a reasonable price.
It all boils down to one question – is the Nothing Phone (1) a breath of fresh air, a new hope if you will, or a glorified and overpriced mid-ranger? Let's check!
Unboxing the phone None (1)...
No phone (1) comes in an eco-friendly recycled fiberglass box. It will break and if you don't cover it, it will never be the same. So when you open the paper box, inside you'll find the phone (1), a USB-C cable, and the coolest SIM release tool we've ever seen!
There is no charger in the box. The phone supports USB-PD 3.0, so you can use any PD charger you have at home.
One more thing, the Nothing Phone (1) has a thin screen protector applied from the factory. It's better quality than usual and not dirty like some of the many Xiaomi phones.
